Currently, Unit 2 (45MW) is undergoing detailed design for an upgrade to 53MW. This capacity increase is due to a rise in water availability and an increase in the available head.

Following the completion of the environmental impact assessment and internal board approvals by K-water later this year, an international tender is expected to be announced by the end of this year or early next year.
